Interesting post about amazon’s price reduction policy. I’ve tried it and it works.
Rpoints : View topic - Amazon’s price reduction refund policy
Incase you can’t view the forum post below, here is the text:
Just a little tip I wanted to share with my fellow VIP’s… if you order from Amazon.co.uk and the item is reduced in price within 30 days of despatch you can get the difference refunded. I think I read it on these very forums a while ago (couldn’t find it again when I searched - so many posts with ‘amazon’ and ‘price’ in etc!), but with Xmas coming this could be very useful as many items bought full price are often reduced shortly after (I seem to remember ordering from their ‘January’ sale on Christmas Eve last year, I must be mad!).
For example, last week I ordered an item and found that yesterday it had been reduced £3.00, so I contacted Amazon and just a few hours later they credited my gift certificate account by £3 Very Happy An easy way to contact them for a refund is to first make sure you are logged in, then click ‘Help’, then ‘Contact Us’ –> ‘Return & Refund Questions’ –> ‘I have a question about returns that’s not listed above’, then select ‘Refund Policy Questions’, click Continue, and it will then show you which items are within the refund window and just click the ‘Add’ button to construct the email and attach a little note asking for a refund for the extra amount you paid, easy as that.
So pretty impressed with Amazon’s customer services, *almost* makes up for their lack of a decent cashback offer to Rpoints, almost… Very Happy
Oh and they’ve extended the 30 day returns period over Xmas - “Items dispatched between November 1, 2005 and December 31, 2005 may be returned until January 31, 2006 for a full refund, subject to the other restrictions of our 30-day returns guarantee”
Hope that helps someone!
Mark
