I went to see Stephen Lee take on Anthony Hamilton in the Welsh Open on Saturday. I’m not a big Rugby fan, but knew to check to see there were no 6 Nations matches at Cardiff - I didn’t know there would be 2 Powergen cup matches their until a few days before. So what to central trains do, put on a 2 carriage train that was packed at Birmingham with NO room at all.
When we were there, I took a look on my phone during a 5 minute frame interval to look at the football scores - then some welsh nazi guard comes out to tell me off - but allows his welsh friends to eat and drink in an arena that states “No food or drink allowed”.

Went there last week, helped by a few stellas - which for once wasn’t reassuringly expensive - only £1.25 a pint - our good old bear dissapeared again.
No pics, only some random voicemail which unfortunately I can’t download off my phone.
Decent night out though.
Varsity - £1/£2 entry + £1.25 drinks on Wednesday at the Lancs branch

I went to the V Festival at Weston Park, courtesy of the nice people at Duracell (said in a Graham Norton voice). It was great. Franz Ferdinand were the best in my opinion, especially coming out to the Doctor Who theme tune. We managed to get to the 10th row of people right near the front! Scissor Siters and surprisingly Rooster were good too.
On sunday we went to the channel 4 stage, mainly for the chemical brothers but the kaiser chiefs were good as were the doves. I hate Oasis so didn’t mind missing them. The chemical brothers were amazing, especially with all the lazer lights and tv screens, they had a very weird, but amusing, clown face on one of the videos. A quick search on flickr found 2 photos of the clown here and here.
