What a farce the ashes ticket sale was for sydney!
I tried the site at 11.45pm and got on, but it said my session would expire in 10 minutes - and as the tickets go on sale at midnight i closed my session and waited until about 5 to to try again. I eventually got back in at 00:03, I had one firefox and one explorer session on my pc, and my mum was doing the same on my laptop next to me. I got in first and tried for 4 tickets for the 1st day - all sold out, i tried 2 and then 1 for the first day - all sold out. I preceded to do the same for all other days and got the same result. In essence there were no tickets available. I was trying the cheap seats to start with, but also tried the “Best available option”, again to no available. Even when it said “Single Seats only” there were none available.
Hopefully the ECB will not let any aussies in the UK, let alone the test matches for the next home ashes.
The Friday Night Hot Mix by James Zabiela on the essesntial selection was great, and also mixed in bits from the recent Cybermen Dr Who episode.
It starts at 2hrs 28mins or so into the show. Click the listen again link at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/petetong/index.shtml
If you want to download it use this URL with FlashGet: rtsp://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/radio1/essselection.ra, be quick it’ll only be there until next friday.
I also recomend the FlashGot extension for Firefox to use with FlashGet.
I also recommend my BBC Radio Play Externally Greasemonkey script for Firefox for getting the URLS of bbc radio shows ![]()
After being mentioned on the New Scientist Website a while ago (see my blog post) I have now found my backstage project listed on the notes of a computer science lecture this lear (PDF, HTML).
This was one of the more interesting courses I did, but with the comment that watching paint dry was more exciting than some of the courses puts that statement in a different light.
The rate is going back down to 2.4% from september!
Opinions are rising against Geraint Jones as England’s wicket keeper.
Lets hope he drops a few more catches
I’ve updated my first backstage project after 7 months,
see it in action here: http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/site4.php
Channel 5 are showing highlights of the cricket, that’s great except Mark Nicholas is hosting it.
Luckily I can watch it on sky, although I hate there 2/3 hour highlights show - its too long.
You’ll have to download watch the latest episode of South Park to understand the title, but South Park is still great.
While I feel the Simpsons has got a bit stale, South Park is still great - although I don’t get everything, probably because it’s made to reflect american politics/news.
American Dad was also back this past week, another great episode, lets hope series 2 comes soon after series 1 ends.
